Hi guys, still in Singapore and now I'm visiting one of Michelin Star restaurant. Candlenut is awarded 1 Michelin Star in the Singapore Michelin Guide 2017 and 2016. This restaurant is the world's 1st and only Micheline starred Peranakan Restaurant. This restaurant is located at Block 17A Dempsey Road Singapore. The concept is classy-type and the interior looks more contemporary and posh, closer to the layman's impression of a "Michelin-starred restaurant".

Candlenut takes a contemporary yet authentic approcah to traditional Straits-Chinese cuisine. They serve up refined Peranakan cuisine that preserves the essence and complexities of traditional food with astute twists that lift the often rich dishes to a different level.

I had Yellow Coconut Curry of Crab with price about SGD 28. It was cooked using blue swimmer crab meat, inspired by the classic prawn pineaple dish, with the gravy contains an exciting and appetizing myriad of flavors of sweet, tanginess and light spiciness.

Also, I had the chicken satay also. The satay was well cooked and the meat was well done, the flavors was not too strong.

Beside that two food, you can shoose any other food such as shrimp and chicken which are very delicious as well..

Some Peranakan purists may lament at the lack of authenticity and food slanted to a more modern taste. Overall, the food was delicious with reasonable price. The service was good and the staffs were friendly. Moreover, the place was clean comfortable, spacious and contemporary.

It's a balancing traditional Peranakan fare with some modern way of cooking and presentation. A worthy recommendation for you who want to taste some Peranakan food while traveling in Singapore :)
