Hi guys, this is my seventh day in Myanmar and now I'm in Mandalay. From this city I'll go visit Monywa city by using car. This trip take 2,5 hours trip and because I rent Alphard which very comfortable, so I didn't feel to tired. LOL..
I start the journey in the morning after breakfast at hotel..
Laykyun Sekkya Buddha located in Khatakan Taung Village near Monywa and there is a standing Buddha statue which has 116 meters tall, it's the second tallest statue in the world and the second tallest Buddha. It's constructed in 1996 and completed on 2008, commisioned by the Chief Abbot Ven. The entrance fee of this pagoda is only $ 3 per person and it's open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
The statue is painted golden yellow which considered a symbol of wisdom in Buddhism. When you looking at the statue, you can make sure that every elements is detailed. This statue shown the image of Buddha SHakyamuni, who is considered the founder of Buddhism. The statue of standing Buddha hides 27 floors and has special elevator and surrounded by garden with Bodhi trees.

Move to the next destination, I go to the most unique temple in Myanmar, Thanboddhay monastery which located only fewe kilometers from the giant Buddhas. Before entrance this pagoda, I buy the tickets about $ 3 per person. Thanboddhay monastery is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm. This temple was built in 1939 and finished at 1952 and during the World War many people trying to get away from war by hiding on the ground of the temple.
Like the others temple in Myanmar, this pagoda is dominated with golden yellow color. The main statue is one of the most colorful monastery buildings in Myanmar. Its square base, each side a little over 50 meters long are a number of receding terraces that contain over 800 richly decorated small pagodas. It's surrounded by statues of lions and some mythological creatures. In the center of pagoda, there is a large golden statue with a hti top element which has 40 meters high.

Next destination, I go to Bodhi Tahtaung & Po Khaung Taung. It is a small range of hills where there are thousand Bodhi trees. Po Khaung Taung is a small range of hills where there are thousand Bodhi trees. Nowadays, many venerated Sayadaw popularly known as the Bodhi Tahtaung Sayadaw who can make your wishes come true. Every tree has a large Buddha statue underneath and many Buddist come to pay obseisance there.

Still in this area, I visit Aung Sakya Pagoda. This pagoda is a landmark for the area around Monywa as it can be seen so far. This pagoda is stand more than 400 feets in height built on 1979 and surrounded by more than 1060 small pagodas which enshrines thousands of Buddha statues. From here, you can see the Buddha statues on a pendestal under the Bodhi tree.

Finish explore all of the pagoda, I'm going back to Mandalay and dinner in Royal Lake Restaurant. This restaurant near Mandalay Lake and after finish our dinner, I taking picture in front of lake before heading back to hotel :)
For visiting pagodas, you must put off your shoes and wear polite dress. Monywa weather is same with Bagan and Yangon, very sunny, so make sure that you bring umbrella or wear hat or sunglasses.
