Hal yang dilakukan

Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses, called Hanok, that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. Bukchon has meaning Northern Village which came about as the neighborhood lies north of two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Before I tell you more about this Village, kinda watch this video first :)

What an amazing village, isn't it? Over time, the old style buildings of hanok have been replaced by newer concrete structures and Bukchon Hanok Village is the only places in the country where the traditional history of Korea can be found.

Today, there are about 900 hanok buildings in this area and many of these Hanok operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience, learn and immerse themselves in traditional Korean culture.

A little story, in the 1960s, this area was set for renovation, which would have meant the destruction or relocation of many hanok buildings. But, thanksfully to the locals who beloved the area protested the areas renovation. The area was spared by the government. While many other areas in Seoul are packed with high rises and new construction, the Bukchon Hanok Village has stayed untouched with mostly loe rise buildings.
