Dublin Castle is the heart of historic Dublin. This Castle stands on the ridge on a strategic site at the junction of the River Liffey and its triburaty the Poddle, where the original fortification may have been an early Gaelic Ring Fort. It's originally built in the 13th century on a site previously settled by the Vikings it functioned as a military fortress, a prison, treasury, courts of law and the seat of Englsh administration in Ireland for 700 years. Now, Dublin Castle is used for important State receptions and Presidential Inaugurations.

Some of rooms are not open for public, The State Apartments, Undercroft, Chapel Royal, Craft Shop, Heritage Centre and Restaurant are open for visitors.

Trust me, you'll amazed with everything insinde this building. This castle is really wide and magnificent, like many castles that I've ever seen in the movie. Hahaha..

A lot of doors, paintings, doors and this castle is amazing beyond words..

How to Get There

Hi guys, still in Dublin and this is my second day in this wonderful city. Dublin have so many historical places and one of them is Dublin Castle. Today, I'm going to visit Dublin Castle which located in Dame St, Dublin 2. To get there, you can take bus to Dame Street or Lord Edward Street with number 13, 27, 40, 49, 54A, 56A, 77A, 123, 150 and 747 Airlink.

Tips and Trick dublin castle

For taking tour around this castle, you need to pay about €10 per adult which need 1 hour 10 minutes. Taking tour is great way for you who solo traveling to Dublin, because you'll get new experience and new friends from many other countries. Moreover, Dubliners using English as their mother tongue, so you don't have to worry If you can speak Gaelic. This castle is open all year round from 9.45 am to 5.45 pm, on Christmas day 25 - 27 December and New Year 1 January this Castle is closed for public. If you wanna come to visit, don't forget to bring camera and always keep this place clean :)
