Hi guys, it's almost Chinese New Year and have you plan your trip vacation? If you haven't, I'll recommend you to visit Beijing. There're so many places to visit in Beijing and now I'm gonna recommend you to visit The Great Wall.
How to Get There
You haven't come to China if you haven't visit The Great Wall. The Great Wall is one of 7 Wonders of the World which located in Huairou, China. To get there, you can take tour bus from Beijing Central City or you can reach it by public transportation. The Great Wall has three main segments which accessable by tourists, there are Badaling, Mutianyu and Simantai. Badaling is the best preserved and reconstructed that's why this segment is always crowd by tourists especially in weekend. So, I decide to visit Badaling.
I take public bus number 800 from Beijing South Railway Station to Deshengmen then continue by bus number 919 to Badaling Great Wall. Need 3 hours trip to arrive at The Great Wall.
What to Do
The Great Wall has length about 8800 kilometers and when you see it, it looks like a dragon which spread out from east to west of China. In past time, this wall was used as China's defense fortress from enemy attacks.
Badaling Great Wall is easy track of great wall, there are 2 options short course (left) or long course (right). From this point, you can taking picture with amazing view of The Great Wall and the green hills as the background.
Badaling Great Wall is the famous part from The Great Wall and equipped with handle which make you easier to explore this Great Wall. This place also have some facilities such as toilet, souvenirs shop, peddler and electric car, you can rent it when you feel tired.
Tips and Trick
Exploring The Great Wall need extra energy, so prepare yourself to trekking by wear comfortable shoes and comfortable shirt. Don't forget to bring snacks and mineral water. Bring map for guide you to explore and bring camera for taking all the stunning view during your trip. During April to October, The Great Wall open daily from 6.30 am to 7 pm with admission fee CNY 40 and during winter, November - March The Great Wall is open daily from 7 am to 6 pm with admission fee CNY 35.
