Hi guys, another trip in Japan but now I'm going to visit Kyoto. On the first day, I'm going to visit Arashiyama Bamboo Forest which located at Arashiyama, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto. To reach this place, you can take train JR Sagano Line to Saga Arashiyama Station then continue by 10 minutes walk or you can take Henkyu Railway to Arashiyama Station then continue by walk.
Well, Kyoto is one of my favorite city in Japan and I've been plannned to visit this bamboo forest. Arashiyama is famous for its Sagano Romantic Train ride, whether during for its cherry blossoms or autumn for the brilliant colors of its maple leaves. This place is the bamboo forest paths which are over 500 meters long, set between Tenryuji temple and Nonomiya Shrine. The Japanese have a long history with bamboo, in myths and legends, metaphorically linking a man's strength with this plant.
Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is one of the most photographed sights in the city and the most beautiful spot is not at the beginning of the path, but further away past Tenryuji temple entrance, where bamboo groves grow further apart from each other, allowing it to become thick and beautiful.
You can rent a bike or stroll the path to enjoy the beautiful sight of sunlight shining through the bamboo grove, casting soft shadows on the path. Especially whne the wind blows through, you can see moving images exuding a tranquil feel. That is the true charm of these forest of the east.
