Haw Par Villa was opened in 1970 by The Myanmars named Boon Par and Boon Haw. This park was built for introduce legends and myths of Chinesse. There are Madame White Snake, Journey to the West, until their main attarction, 10 courts of Hell which gonna make you affraid to sleep alone. Lol..
The 10 Courts of hell tells about every process court in hell that different based on the sins, moral story on this diorama is live as well as possible and don't do a bad things like cheat, steal and others. For examples, if during your lifeyou do steal, then your hand will be cut everyday in hell. Since then, i'm afraid to do something bad, even just lie :(
I know, this park is quite creepy but I still recommend you to visit this place. Otherwise, this park is full of history that you can learn. In this park, there are about 1000 statues and 150 dioramas which tell aout myths, legend, history, folktales and moral lessons.
Beside, in this place also have nice spot for taking pictures in the garden with little pool and pagoda.
This park is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm with no entrance fee. This place is very suitable for you who are budget traveler and looking for free tourism place in Singapore. This place also a good place for education, so don't forget to take your children here. Anyway, this place is not too mainstream, but near the MRT Station, not too hard to reach there. Don't forget to bring camera for capturing moment and keep this place clean.
