Nan Liang is a Tang-style landscape Chinese garden of classical elegance based on the blueprint of the famous Jiangshouju Garden in Shanxi Province. This garden was opened on 15th Nevember 2006 and covers an area of 35000 sq metres. Although the location of the garden is in urban Kowloon, but this garden is very beautiful, colorful and scenic place with a trasquil and serene atmosphere.
There are plenty of skyscrapper in the vicinity of the garden the distant backdrop to the north is of the scenis mountain ranges of Lion Rock, Tate's Cairn, Temple Hill and Kowloon Peak.
This garden has four elements of Tang-style gardens with artificial hillocks and ornamental rocks, water features, timber structures and old trees. It's designed with the intention that visitors follow a one way route and the landscaping is based on the on traditional Chinesse techniques such as "borrowing scenes", "concealing scenes", "sheltering scenes" and "penetrating scenes" to create space.
In the Lotus Pond, you'll see two red painted timber Zi Wu Bridges which very beautiful. Unfortunatelly, this bridges is not accessible to visitors. Move to the left, is Spring Hill, one of the garden's hillocks with trees and waterfall and surrounded by rocks.
On my last visit in Hongkong, I come to one of famous garden in this city which called Nan Lian Garden. Nan Lian Garden is located at 60 Fung Tak Rd, Ha Yuen Leng, Hongkong. To reach this place, you can take MTR Kwun Tong Line to Diamond Hill. Entrance to garden is about 5 minutes walk from exit C2 (Plaza Hollywood). Or you can take Bus routes 11,74X,75X,82X,82P,84M,85C,85M,91,91M,92,286M to Diamond Hill Public Transport Interchange.
So many beautiful spots around this garden, make sure you bring camera for capturing moment during your visit. This garden is open daily from 7 am to 9 pm and no entrance fee, except in some special events it would be charged. Wear comfortable shoes and comfortable clothes based on the season. Keep this place clean and don't pick the flowers.
