Waking up early morning to cashing sunrise in one of favorite sunrise spot in Brisbane, Mount Coot-tha. It's only 15 minutes drive or bus ride from the city, you can take bus 471 from Adelaide St in the city, opposite King George Sq.

Mount Coot-tha is the place to go to take in a panoramic view of Brisbane and get glimpses of the surrounding region of Moreton Bay with high about 287 meters above the sea level. It's a remarkable vantage point to view Brisbane and beyond. In Aboriginal Language, Mount Coot-tha has meaning "Place of Honey". This mountain was declared a Public Recreation Reserve all the way back in 1880 and has been a popular outdoors destination ever since.

The reason why go there early morning because I want to see the sunrise. Lucky me because when I arrive there, the weather is very friendly although this is almost the end of summer.

Mount Coot-tha lookout is very famous, no wonder so many visitors come to this place to enjoy the magnificent view of Brisbane from above. This place also friendly for picnic with your family and your children. There are some facilities in this place, such as restaurants and cafe where you can fill your tummy when you get hungry and thirsty. Moreover, you can find souvenir shop here.

Beside walk, you can rent a bike from the city and ride to the summit. But, riding to the top is quite strenuous, so arrange for a vehicle that can transport the bike to save your energy for the more scenic trails.
