The first time come inside this, I'm impressed that this museum is very clean and the floor is polished.
How to Get There
Hi guys, now I have opportunity for visit Malaysia because I last month I got discount for airplane tickets. LOL.. So, today I go to Kuala Lumpur. Starting my journey from Jogjakarta at 10.20 am and arrive at Kuala Lumpur at 2 pm. This is my first time to going abroad alone and not too bad, because Malaysia is still near from Indonesia.
Arriving at Kuala Lumpur, I take bus to Malacca, this city is become my first destination in Malaysia. Bus fare from KLIA to Malacca is about MYR 25 for adults.
What to Do
After 2,5 hours trip, I arrive at Malacca. Before check in at hotel, I still have a little time for visit one tourism place. I decided to visit Maritime Museum which located in Quayside Street, 75000 Melacca. This museum is open daily from 9 am to 5.30 pm, so because it's already afternoon, I still have few hours to explore this museum.
This museum is look like big old ship, remind me about colonialism ship. Before going inside, I buy the entrance fee about MYR 6 per person.
Maritime Museum is a replica of the Portuguese ship, Flora de La Mar', that sank off the coast of Malacca when the way back to Portugal and carrying loot plundered from Malacca. This ship has 34 meters high, 36 meters long and 8 meters wide.
The first time come inside this, I'm impressed that this museum is very clean and the floor is polished. I go to upper deck, the situation visualized how traders from Arab, India and China conducted business with each other in order to get profit in Malacca Port.
Move to the other side, I visit captain's cabin. There is diorama of captain's cabin which have an actual look.
For you who love ship, there are a collection of different ship models that are on display at that museum. You can learn about the types of ships and their functions from the collection.
To be honest, this museum is very awesome. But I'm very sorry, because this museum is going to close, so I don't have much time to explore it :( But overall, if I come back into Kuala Lumpur again, I'll make special time to explore every detail of this museum :)
