How to Get There
Hi guys, still in Paris. After I have my coffee time, I want to visit one of famous museum in Paris. It's very close to Cafe de Flore. Only 13 minutes of walk and I arrive there. Louvre Museum located in Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris. The opening hours is, Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday is open from 9 a.m to 6 p.m, on Wednesday and friday is open from 9 a.m to 9.45 p.m and close on Tuesday. The admission fee is around 15 euro.
What to Do
Louvre Museum or Parisian called it Musee du Louvre, it was France Kingdom Palace which now become one of biggest museum in the world, also the famous museum in Paris. This museum become the most visited museum in the world with more than 8 millions visitors per year. Louvre Museum have more than 380 exhibition object and display more than 35 thousands arts. The famous one is Monalisa Paint made by Leonardo da Vinci.
Mostly people are not interest to visit Museum, but I love museum, arts and history. Moreover, I'm in Paris now and there is the famous museum in the world so I don't wanna miss it.
There are three ways for going inside this museum, first we can choose through pyramid (Louvre pyramid, main entrance), second is Carrousel du Louvre (Mall underground), and last is Porte des Lions (near Denon Wing). If you want to see the other masterpiece, you should choose from Louvre Pyramid. From this entrance, you can see Louvre pyramid and Inverted Pyramid, both of these masterpiece are famous because of The Davinci Code movie.
Louvre Pyramid was made from glass and become main entrance to Louvre Museum. This pyramid was designed by I.M Pei on 1989.
After going inside this museum, we have access to 8 departments of Louvre Museum which spread in three wings building, they are Sully Wing, Richelieu Wing and Denon Wing.
Sully wing is the oldest part of this museum. This wing is consist of 2 floor, in first floor we can see antique stuff from egypt (Egyptian Antiquities) which consist of sculpture, mummy, clothes, weapon and other things. In the second floor, cosist of paintings and prints and drawings which come from France.
The next wing is Richelieu which consist of paintings from all over Europe which made on mideval until 19th century in the second floor and first floor is consist of decorative arts, such as furniture, ceramics and many more.
The last wing is Denon Wing which become the most crowded wing because here is where the Monalisa is. On first floor of this wing, there is new gallery which dedicated for Islamic Art where we can see antique stuff such as ceramics, glass, wood, metal, textile and miniature. In the second floor, we can see collections of Roman and Etruscan antiques also sculptures from Renaissance until 19 century.
Louvre Museum is not only for artist or art lovers, but also for general like me because there are so many interesting things that we could see which could increase our knowledge :)
