Jeju Folk Village is a artificial village which built on 16 hectare area. This area is consist of some villages and imitated from village in 1890 era.

Did you still remember Jewel in The Palace movie? The movie set is like Korean in kingdom era, isn't it? Yes, the movie was filming at Jeju Folk Village. Jeju Folk Village is a artificial village which built on 16 hectare area. This area is consist of some villages and imitated from village in 1890 era.

When you arrive at the entrance gate, it feel like you were in past time. The gate has ancient building style and you'll hear traditional music which bring you to the past time. That village are devide into 4 theme, Mountain village, Hill-country village, fishing village and shamanism village.

Some of the extensive range of folk items on display are 1627 woodenware, 1046 bamboo ware, 1699 earthenware, 1544 porcelain ware, 765 wax candles, 921 ironware and 579 other items.

Because of the successful of Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace), In March 2006 Daejanggeum Mini Theme Park was opened. This theme park offers various things for visitors to see, such as where Jang Geum learns medicine as a maid were filmed.

Beside Hamdeok Beach and Teddy Bear Museum, Jeju Island have a lot of things to explore, one of them is Jeju Folk Village. For you who love historical places, this village is good for you to know the history of Korean People in past time. Jeju Folk Village is located in 631-34, Minsokhaean-ro, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo. You can reach there by using Bus No 100 from Jeju International Airport to Jeju Intercity Bus Terminal. Or From Jeju Terminal, take bus (bound for Bunyoung Road) to Jeju Folk Village.

Interest to visit this village? Here some tips you must know:

  • Entrance fee : Individual KRW 10.000 (adults ages 19 and above), KRW 8000 (seniors ages 65 and above), KRW 7000 (teenagers, middle to high school students) and KRW 6000 (children ages 4 to elementary school)
  • Opening hours : October – February 08:30 – 17:00, March 08:30 - 17:30, April – July 15th 08:30 – 18:00, July 16th – August 08:30 – 18:30, September 08:30 – 18:00
  • You can take picture wear Hanbok (Traditional Korean Clothes) in this place
  • Bring camera for capturing moments
  • Wear comfortable shoes
