Exploring Singapore Culinary is never end! Actually, I've visit this place on my last visit to Singapore last month. I tried one of famus meal in Singapore which called Claypot Rice. Actually claypot rice is coming from Hongkong but already spread around the world, especially Singapore. After googling where is the best claypot rice in Singapore, I found it at Lian He Ben Ji. This restaurant is located at Chinatown Complex Food Centre and has been in operation afor a long time specialising in Claypot rice.
Their specialises in Sausage Claypot Rice, Chicken Claypot Rice or combination of both. Beside claypot rice, they also served some soups such as Watercress Pork Rib Soup, Chicken Leg peanut Soup and Black Chicken Herbal Soup. The menu price ranging SGD 5 - SGD 25.
The claypot rice is first steamed over a gas stove at the initial cooking stage to speed up the cooking process. After the claypot rice is transferred over to a charcoal stove. It's kinda traditional way too cooking in the past time when the gas stove haven't found yet.
I order mixed claypot rice which served with chicken, sausages, salted fish vegetables and rice. The chicken is incredibly tender and the rice a little too burnt from the pot. Overall, it's very tasty and well cooked. Actually, there are so many booth around this food court which sell claypot rice, but Lian He Ben Ji is the best. Go visit this delicious claypot rice when you visit Singapore :)
